Director of Communications

Jiří Baumruk holds the position of Communications Director at AK Langmeier & Co. He is responsible for Public Relations and is the media contact. The law and insolvency firm values his many years of professional experience.
Jiří Baumruk graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University in Prague in 1975 –1979, majoring in coaching. In 1982 – 1984 he completed his studies at the Faculty of Journalism of Charles University, where he graduated with a state final examination.

He played in the 1st Czechoslovak Basketball League for eight seasons for Sparta Prague (1973–1979, 1980–1982) and one season during his military service (1979/80) for RH Pardubice. His greatest achievement was third place in the Czechoslovak Basketball League in 1976. In 1972–1979 he played 120 games for the Czechoslovak national junior and U23 teams and 10 games for the men's national team. During his sporting career from 1974 he was already a coach and leader of youth sports teams in volleyball and basketball, and from 1977 he worked as a leader and organizer of children's camps, recreations and sports camps.

From 1981 he worked as an editor at Czechoslovak Radio and from November 1985 at Czechoslovak Television as a sports commentator. In 1992–2000 he was the editor-in-chief of the Czech Television Sports Editorial Office. He was a member of the Czech Television Council from 2005 to 2011, and served as Chairman of the Council from 2007 until the end of his mandate in 2011. From 2000 to 2012 he worked for Eurosport as a commentator, and from 2015 to the present he has been working for O2TV sport as chief commentator and commentator.
